Renu and Sudhir remember

Ashish, as we knew him ……

Words fail us to express our sadness and grief as we pen down our feelings for Ashish. We have known Ashish since his early childhood days; saw him grow from a little boy to his teens and to become a handsome young man. We always admired him for his gentle, calm and sober demeanor. As a growing up boy, his thirst for knowledge was unquenchable. He was often called as a walking encyclopedia when he was in his early teens. We also remember him playing guitar and piano keyboard like an expert musician.

In the years to follow, after he moved to the USA, we would often get the news from his proud parents regarding his achievements, his research work and also his personal life. We were indeed very happy for Ashish as everything seemed going good for him. We got a chance to meet him and his wife Rachel at his sister Sonia’s wedding at Delhi.  Ashish was just the same……very affectionate, warm and respectful. It was great to meet him after a gap of many years. But three years back the news of his illness came as a jolt to all of us. He was going through the best of the treatment and we were very sure that he will fight it out. But alas, destiny had different plans for him and he left for his heavenly abode all of a sudden and too early in life leaving the bereaved family and friends. Although he has passed away at a very early stage of life, he has enriched the lives of all his near and dear ones with good memories. His physical presence will always be missed but he will be remembered forever for his work which he has done for the society.

We pray to God that his soul rests in eternal peace.
