Growing up in India
Ashish Sharma grew up in India, and in his words – “I grew up in a military family. We lived on air forces bases in different cities in India, which gave me the ability to adjust to new situations. Everyone around me had a similar experience. It was a very disciplined upbringing, but very loving. We always ate our meals together which on the hind side I now feel brings the family close. There is a saying ‘Family that eats together, lives together’ is so true”.
"In the words of the midnight library, it was a perfect life. There's nothing that I would change. Apart from my parents and sister, my grandparents and uncles have had a great influence on me. and got me to America for my MS and Ph.D. That’s how I finally got into research which I discovered was my real was my passion".
Meeting my wife, Rachel
I met my wife on match.com. I had favorited her but was too shy to make the first contact. She was annoyed when I did not email her, fortunately, she emailed me. If she had not, then I would’ve missed out on the amazing life we’ve had.
Just goes to show how the little actions we take (or not take) can n outsized bearing on our lives.
